Welcome Toledo-Lucas County The Welcome Toledo-Lucas County Initiative works to build a welcoming and inclusive community for immigrants, refugees, and people of diverse cultures.

Welcome TLC is a cross-sector network of government, community, and business leaders, including immigrants, refugees, and people of diverse cultures. We launched in 2014 with resolutions of support by both Lucas County and Toledo City Council. In 2019, Lucas County, through leadership of Welcome TLC, achieved national designation as a Certified Welcoming community, becoming only the second county in the country and the second community in Ohio to receive the designation. Join the Welcome TLC newsletter to stay in the loop and learn how you can help Toledo-Lucas County build a welcoming and inclusive community for all. https://mailchi.mp/399adfe64035/welcometlc

☀️It’s a beautiful, sunny Fall day for an Immigration Solidarity Walk. The walk and pilgrimage starts at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center and ends at the Queen of Apostles School where we will be sharing stories of immigration and welcome, highlighted during the annual Immigrant Heritage Month storytelling series in June. We look forward to seeing you today.🍂🍁

💕Many thanks to the organizers: Toledo Immigrant Alliance and Abriendo Puertas Para Soluciones for the opportunity to participate in today’s event.

Immigrant-owned businesses are a key part of what keeps Main Streets active and local economies moving.

Across Ohio, these storefronts create jobs, fill vacant spaces, and bring new energy to downtown neighborhoods. More at https://n2nmovement.org/.

Bishop Mark Seitz leads the Catholic Church in El Paso, a city on the U.S.-Mexico border. Sheriff Sean Casey runs the sheriff’s office in Alexandria, Virginia. Jenét DeCosta leads public affairs at Driscoll's, the berry company.

This Thursday, they’ll be on the same panel.

We’re excited for this mix. A sheriff sees immigration as a public safety question. A bishop sees families. A business sees the workers it can’t find. Each one is right, and adds a perspective others don’t always see.

Our President and CEO, Jennie Murray, and Jeff Wasden of State Business Executives round out the panel.

📅 Thursday, Oct. 15
🕒 3–4 p.m. ET

What would you ask a sheriff about immigration? Tell us in the comments.
