Teamwork makes the hard work feel light. 🤝
A massive thank you to everyone who spent their Saturday afternoon giving back through litter pickup, door-to-door outreach, and food service. You turned a day of hard work into something truly meaningful.
We are especially proud of our summer associates! Joining a new firm and diving straight into community service takes a lot of heart, and your enthusiasm didn’t go unnoticed.

🚨 Is Ohio shifting vital funds away from the students who need them most? 🚨

Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) is sounding the alarm on proposed changes to how Ohio handles federal education funding. While "local flexibility" sounds good on paper, the reality of these proposed ESSA waivers could deeply impact low-income and English Learner students.
Here is what’s at stake:
📉 Accountability Drop: Slashing the weight of English Language Progress in school ratings from 30 points down to just 5.
💸 Diluted Funding: Opening up Title I-A funds to schools with less poverty, spreading critical resources too thin.
⚠️ Lost Guardrails: Consolidating Title III funding into a single stream, risking the dedicated support Ohio’s 80,000+ English Learners rely on.

We cannot let flexibility come at the expense of equity.
