Our own K9 Journey with her steak dinner reward for her hard work rescuing a missing person last night! Special thanks to K9 Ella from EPSAR for providing the direction of travel and the humans from Eastern Panhandle Search & Rescue, Inc. (EPSAR) and Western Maryland K9 Search & Rescue (WMK9SAR), Berryville Police Chief Jason Winner, Officer Jonathan Zavala, Clarke County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Lora Nicholson, and Deputy Luke Holsinger who all assisted in locating the missing elderly man.

Please join us in congratulating Madeleine and K9 Squirrel for passing their internal night evaluation. Conditions were hot and humid, but this team never quit and pushed through until they found their subject! The final hurdle is their external evaluation, and then they'll be a fully deployable K9 search team. Great job! 🎉

Today, some members of Western Maryland K9 Search and Rescue had the pleasure of going to the Shenandoah Area Council Cub Scout Day Camp in Greencastle, PA to teach some Cub Scouts about staying safe, using the Hug-A-Tree program. We also talked to them about the different K9's we use to find lost people. The kids especially enjoyed watching K9 Journey and Team K9 Harlan doing their demonstrations.
