Scouts BSA, Troop 270, Thurmont, MD 12 Month Program keeps scouts going year round. There is a lot of information and answers to many questions on the Troop's Web site.

Scout planned, organized and led keeps scouts engaged in things they want to be doing and learning leadership and service while doing it. Troop 270 is one of the most active BSA Troops in the Frederick County area and has a program designed to keep any Scout busy! Some of these activities include, but by no means are limited to; backpacking, bicycle touring, camping, caving, hiking, mountain bikin

g, rafting, rappelling, rock climbing, sailing, scuba diving, skiing and snowboarding.These are just a few of the things that Troop 270 does! Feel free to read through it and bring any questions you have to the Scoutmaster via email [email protected]

For those that are looking for mulch we do have some left. Contact Scouts BSA, Troop 270, Thurmont, MD. Troop 270 has 20 bags of natural hardwood mulch available for $3.75 per bag. Anyone interested can pm the Troop to arrange pick-up.

Today our Scouts rolled up their sleeves and got to work making a difference right here in our community! 💪🌎

They spent the day clearing debris from drainage ditches in our local watershed to help improve water flow and reduce flooding and pollution. By removing leaves, trash, and built-up sediment, they’re helping protect wildlife habitats and keep our streams cleaner and healthier.

Service isn’t just something our Scouts talk about — it’s something they do. We’re so proud of their hard work, teamwork, and commitment to conservation!

Spring is just around the corner!

As the days start getting a little longer and the weather begins to warm up, it’s time to start thinking about gardens, fresh mulch, and getting our yards ready for spring.

Support our local Scouts by purchasing your mulch through their annual fundraiser. Not only will your yard look great, but you’ll also be helping Scouts fund camping trips, community service projects, and leadership opportunities throughout the year.

Order your mulch, spread the word, and let’s get ready for spring together!

You can order by reaching out to your favorite Troop 270 Scout or by using the Google Form! All orders and payments are due no later than March 26, 2026. Delivery or pick-up on April 11, 2026.
