It's a New Month!

One of the biggest barriers to progress is waiting for certainty before taking action. Just as no one knows how a dice will land until it is thrown, you may never discover what is possible until you begin. Growth often begins with a step taken before the outcome is known.

Remember to start working on the requirements for your planned graduate school application, make that inquiry, and seek information from the right sources. The clarity you need may come from a conversation, a question asked, or a connection made.

What seems impossible today may simply be waiting for the right guidance, the right information, or the right opportunity.

As we move closer to the halfway point of the year, remember that there is still ample time to make meaningful progress. Every step counts. Every question asked matters. Every action taken moves you closer to your destination.

You do not have to know everything before you begin. You simply need to begin.

We are rooting for you and cheering you on throughout your graduate school journey.

Happy New Month!

June is here, bringing with it a reminder that every day holds new possibilities. As we reach the midpoint of the year, it is a great time to reflect on how far we’ve come, celebrate the progress we’ve made, and refocus on the goals that still lie ahead.

Whether your journey has unfolded exactly as planned or taken unexpected turns, remember that growth is often found in the steps taken consistently over time. Each day presents a new opportunity to learn, improve, and move closer to your aspirations.

As we embrace what lies ahead, may this month bring renewed motivation, meaningful progress, and opportunities that move you closer to your goals.

Welcome to June.

CONGRATULATIONS!! | i-Scholar Initiative (iSI)

It’s the season! We would be celebrating our scholars who recently completed their MSc and PhD. At i-Scholar Initiative (iSI), we are always proud to see our scholars reach remarkable milestones, and their achievements are worth celebrating. Their hard work, commitment to their duties, and persistence have paid off.

One of our operations managers and scholar, Fahidat Gbadamosi, completed her PhD and graduated on May 7, 2026, from the University of South Carolina. Her graduation is not only a personal achievement but also a powerful reminder of what is possible when talent meets opportunity, mentorship, discipline, and resilience.

Through her journey, she has embodied the values we hold dearly at i-Scholar Initiative (iSI): academic excellence, service, leadership, and a commitment to lifting others along the way. Even while pursuing her doctoral studies, she continued to contribute meaningfully to our mission of mentoring and empowering young African scholars to access fully funded graduate opportunities in world-class universities.

Congratulations, Dr. Gbadamosi! The Isi family is incredibly proud of you and excited for the greater things you will achieve. To our current and aspiring scholars: let this be a reminder, keep going, keep preparing, and keep believing.

We wish every one of our scholars the best reports in the weeks and months to come.

Thanks to all our partners, sponsors, and mentors for your support and commitment to this initiative.

Sometimes, the hardest part of chasing a big goal isn’t the goal itself, but rather the waiting period.
· Waiting for the opportunity to open up.
· Waiting for clarity to arrive.
· Waiting for things to finally look the way we imagined.

But waiting is never really empty time. It is the quiet space where growth is happening in ways we don't always notice or may look insignificant at first.
This in-between season can still be meaningful if we choose to treat it that way.

Instead of waiting aimlessly and counting the number of rejections, you can use it to build skills that support the goal, strengthen habits that will carry you further, or explore other interests that expand your perspective. What feels like “not there yet” is often where the foundation is being built.
And many times, the path doesn’t just move straight toward what we planned.
· It bends,
· It shifts,
· It asks us to learn things we didn’t expect.
That doesn’t mean you have gone off track, it is just life being ''LIFE"

So while you are waiting for the goal to show up, don’t put your life on pause. Keep creating. Keep learning. Keep becoming the kind of person who will be ready when the moment finally arrives.
Because progress isn’t only in reaching, it is also in what you are building while the desired results are on the way.

We often overlook the power of seemingly small things. Yet, when we pause to consider them, they become powerful reminders and evidence that progress is taking place, even when it feels otherwise.

We should not overlook those small wins, for they accumulate into something far greater if we allow patience and consistency to have their way. A procedure that worked weeks, months, or even years ago should not be dismissed simply because a recent attempt did not succeed. It is easy to conclude that nothing works; however, a closer and more honest reflection often reveals that several things have indeed worked.

This week, be intentional about ruminating over those small victories. Let them fuel your motivation, strengthen your resolve, and remind you that progress is not absent; it is unfolding. These moments may be small, but they carry the power to keep you moving forward and ultimately position you for greater success.

Let the growing version of you keep evolving.
