According to Kailey, at her position at L’Officiel USA this summer, she will work on fashion editorial and will have the opportunity to write, do market research and editorial planning.

“I hope to pursue a career in magazines, with a specific passion for print journalism, something I believe still holds immense value in our community, no matter how digitally advanced we become,” said Kailey. “Together, journalism and fashion studies were and will always be my answer to the question ‘If you could do anything, what would it be?’”

One of our fundraising auction items this past year was a tour of the CBS Broadcast Center with Fordham and WFUV alumnus Steve Dunlop, FCRH '76, who works at CBS News and generously donated his time. The winner, John V., from Houston, brought his two young sons, Jack, 11, and Will, 9, to NYC, for what they called "a magical experience." Here are some photos from their day: before a photo of legendary newsman Edward R. Murrow, with CBS Evening News Weekend Anchor Jericka Duncan, with Steve, and in the control room.

As part of Encaenia, the Fordham College Alumni Association presents an award to a student who exemplifies the Fordham Spirit throughout their college career. The award is actually a Fordham armchair, on which the recipient is invited to sit at the ceremony.

So who received this year's chair?

Luca Amaturo was a double major in political science and communications, known as one who gave his time to others, whether it was going to show up on his CV or not.

The Department of Political Science called Amaturo an outstanding student, noting that his work demonstrated a strong sense of ethics and empathy, not just to understand the many challenges that exist in the global political system, but to use that knowledge to suggest ideas on how to make it better.

The Department of Communications and Media Studies said the Lambda Pi Eta member went beyond volunteer hours and was a consistent presence for the national communications association honor society.

Outside the classroom, Amaturo contributed to the Fordham Ram and worked as an intern for the Center for Migration Studies, an NGO dedicated to defending the dignity and rights of migrants, refugees, and newcomers.
