I had a whole post of the things we have done this week for funds for Friday but it went out the door this morning when Jennfier texted me “Copper can’t even stand up.” We both knew what that meant. It meant that love can’t always save an animal no matter how much we want it to. It means his body is tired and he gave it his best fight this last month. It means he was telling us, I’m ready 💔

No one prepares you for not being able to “fix” an animal. We have had so many successes but sometimes all the medicine and love in the world can’t fix a problem we have no control over. Unfortunately we believe he was battling cancer.

He didn’t leave this world without love , A FAMILY WHO CARED, he had people with him 24/7. His foster siblings, especially Eileen loved him so much. This picture of Eileen was from this morning when she was giving him kisses. Jennifer and Trace adopted Copper and he was a part of their family.

I have a lot of not nice things to say about his previous owners but it doesn’t matter, all that matters is how much joy he brought to us and the Foster’s and everyone he met. He reminded us of kindness, pure love, silliness and that he was very much still a boy 😂Even though today I’m completely gutted along with his Fosters, we all would do it all over again even knowing the outcome to give him the best month.

Copper, truly the saying, if love could have saved you, you would still be alive, IS SO TRUE🩵🌈💔

We love you so much.

In honor of Copper, we are having $5 Friday in his honor. Copper would want us to continue to be able to take animals in his condition even if the outcome is something we can’t control, we can control all the love an animal gets while they are earth side because we know all dogs go to heaven 🌈🪽🐾

Ok, seriously! How has lil Harriett not been adopted yet? She’s a great size, friendly, healthy young pup! Look at that smile and that lip 💋 Harriett is so ready to find her forever family and get all the love and attention she deserves. She loves playing with her dog sibling and most of all cuddling on the couch.

Mr. copper has a follow up appointment tomorrow morning. We are hoping he has gained some weight. He continues to struggle with diarrhea and a low appetite. We are making sure he’s getting his daily food and water but it takes a lot of coaxing. Some days he has more energy than others. Eileen is still nursing him along and providing him companionship!

Our precious girl Maize is looking for her forever home, or even a foster! She is the only one of the 3 feral Cory dogs still at the farm. We’d absolutely love to get her into a home where she can continue to grow. Maize is the least scared of the 3, she walks pretty good on a leash and has been to an event where she did really well. She is social butterfly 🦋 with other dogs. We use her for dog testing because she is so friendly and calm. Maize would do well in a home with a friendly resident dog/s, a secure yard and a compassionate and patient family.

I was messaged a couple days ago about this dog from Sullivan County. The owner was arrested and so was everyone in the home. I was told the home was deplorable and the neighbor was going to help feed and water the dog while owner was away. The neighbor could not bring the dog inside and obviously you can see the dog needs vet attention. The back legs are weak, skin issues BUT he was neutered! He also does not see well at all. I was told he is around 10-12 years old. Multiple adults in a home and an animal looks like this. You have to love your animals better. 😕he is dog friendly and cat friendly and was around chickens.
