A few weeks into Abbie's time at Ruth House, she gave us an interview about her life in Cameroon, the challenges and joys of living in the United States as a Missionary Kid, and detailed a little bit about how her time at the house had been.
Several years later, after finishing her time at the discipleship program, she has recounted how impactful that time had been. Read below:
"When I started at the Ruth House, I wasn’t great with tense emotional situations, grocery shopping on a budget, or adulting in general. During my time there, I learned how to deal with moments of difficult emotions and situations in a healthy way. This enabled me to help my friends when they are having a hard time dealing with personal, emotional issues. While at the Ruth house, I practiced how to plan for nutritious and filling meals while on a budget. My time at the Ruth house kicked off a period of mental and emotional maturity, and I continue to learn and grow with the +Compass Homegroup."
