Every tool added to the SCREWS Tool Library is another step toward a more sustainable future.

This week we’re highlighting our air compressor and adapter kit, ready to help with everything from inflating tires and sports equipment to powering pneumatic tools and tackling projects around the home.

The best part? One tool can serve dozens of people instead of sitting unused in a garage.

Our catalog continues to grow thanks to members, donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe access should be shared, waste should be reduced, and communities are stronger when resources are available to everyone.

Join SCREWS today and become part of a movement helping shape a sustainable lending industry—where tools are used, skills are shared, and communities thrive together.

What project would you use our air compressor for?

Join SCREWS today for access to an ever-growing catalog of tools, resources, and opportunities to create, repair, and learn.

Your membership does more than provide access to equipment—it helps sustain our nonprofit mission, expand our inventory, support community programming, and keep valuable resources circulating throughout our community.

Every membership helps us continue growing. Every tool borrowed helps make a difference.

Hurricane season is here, and preparation starts at the neighborhood level.

Strong communities aren’t built during the storm—they’re built before it. Taking a little time now to prepare your home, check in with neighbors, and gather essential supplies can make a major difference when severe weather hits Tallahassee.

Start with the basics:
• Secure outdoor items like tools, furniture, and debris that could become hazards in high winds
• Check your emergency supplies—water, non-perishable food, batteries, flashlights, and a first aid kit
• Review your evacuation zone and have a plan in place
• Charge devices and consider backup power options
• Know how to shut off utilities if needed

But preparation goes beyond your front door. Reach out to neighbors—especially seniors or those who may need extra support. A quick check-in can go a long way in making sure everyone stays safe.

Access to the right tools and resources is also key. Community-based solutions, like tool sharing and local support networks, help reduce barriers and make it easier for residents to prepare effectively without unnecessary cost.

If you’re unsure where to start, focus on small, actionable steps this week. Preparation doesn’t have to happen all at once—but it does have to happen.

Let’s work together to keep Tallahassee resilient, connected, and ready.
