Meet the Cast!

Mattie Ward (Director / Jo Muldoon) is the grandson of Irish immigrants who came through Ellis Island and grew up in a New York family shaped by storytelling, theater, and an Irish NYPD officer. Trained in acting in New York, Mattie returned to performing, writing, and directing about ten years ago. Recent work includes writing and directing NOT A COMEDY at Theatre Tallahassee, with local acting credits including Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Selsdon in Noises Off. Film work includes numerous independent films, including projects centered on veterans, PTSD, and su***de awareness. Mattie has also studied and collaborated with Los Angeles actor and teacher Anthony Montes on workshops and veteran-focused performance projects. Spreading the Newsbrings Mattie home to a grandfather’s Galway.

Meet the Crew!

Amoreena Tillman (Stage Manager) is thrilled to work on her first production with Tallahassee Irish Rep. She earned her B.A in Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Management from FSU and recently worked on the Friends with the Write Stuff Playwriting Festival at Theatre Tallahassee and Tallahassee Hispanic Theatre’s A Night of Argentinian Theatre.Some of her other favorite productions include Jersey Boys (Florida Studio Theatre), and 9 to 5 (Florida State University).

Meet the Cast!

Jake Armstrong (Jack Smith/ James Ryan) is a classically trained tenor and graduate of FSU’s College of Music. A Tallahassee native, Jake has appeared in numerous operatic, concert and theatre productions both locally and with companies including Wolf Trap Opera and the Jacksonville Symphony. Favorite local roles have included Hercule Poirot in Theatre Tallahassee’s Murder on the Orient Express, Reverend Hale in TCC’s The Crucible, and Demetrius in Southern Shakespeare’s inaugural production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is his first appearance in a production with the Irish Repertory Theatre and he’s ecstatic to be working with this talented group of folks.

Lauren Antista (Shawna Early) is so excited to be in her first Tallahassee Irish Repertory show with this wonderful cast and crew! Her latest roles includes Theatre Tallahassee productions of Bridesmaids (Libby Ruth), Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Lady Eugenia/Ensemble) and the role of Olivia in the show Olivia’s Fate, which premiered at Friends with the Write Stuff: Playwriting Festival at Theatre Tallahassee. Favorite roles include Murder on the Nile (Jacqueline de Severac), Dead Man Cell Phone (Jean), The Secret Garden Musical (Rose Lennox) and Nine (Renata).

Erika Stone (Mrs. Tully) is an actor in residence with the FSU College of Motion Picture Arts. She has performed extensively with local theater groups and was last seen with the Irish Repertory Theatre in their production of SHUSH as Ursula. She is happy to share the stage in this production with so many of her favorite people. Thanks also to all the Stone men in her life who support her unconditionally.

Beth Blair (Mrs. Tarpey) a graduate of Muskingum College (BA) and University of Nebraska at Omaha (MS), is thrilled to be performing for the first time with the Irish Repertory Theater of Tallahassee. She has appeared in many shows at Theatre Tallahassee and The Dixie Theatre in Apalachicola over the years, with favorite roles as Abby Brewster (Arsenic and Old Lace), Gingy (Love, Loss, and What I Wore), and Sis (The Queen of Bingo). She thanks her husband Curt for his unwavering support and for her friends at Mulligan Park for their excitement over this experience!

Meet the Cast!

Jason Chimonides (Magistrate) Jason holds both a B.A. in Theater and an M.F.A. in Theater Directing from Florida State University. In addition to three decades of work as an actor/director/musician and dramatist, he has taught stage & screen performance, directing, Theater appreciation and playwriting at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Stevenson University, Pace University, Brooklyn College, Florida State University and several others in his thirty-year career in the dramatic and educative arts. Recently as Education Director for Tallahassee, Florida’s Southern Shakespeare Company (SSC), he supervised, coordinated and developed all SSC educational offerings as well as worked as a creative artist with the company. A songwriter and musician, he records and performs under the “Nom De Musiques:” Gamble Cosmos, Chiia, The Cinema Twin and Childhood (TLH). All currently streaming on most music platforms.
