It’s a wrap - and what a truly extraordinary experience!

Sunday’s performance of To Shiver the Sky was more than a concert - it was a moment we all shared, onstage and in the audience.

There was something different in the room. A kind of presence. You could feel it in every entrance, every phrase, every quiet moment in between - but even more in the spirit behind it. This music asks a lot, and what unfolded felt deeply collective, deeply human.

And the audience… a full house, completely with us. The kind of listening that you don’t take for granted. The kind where you can feel the connection going both ways. We heard from many of you afterward - still moved, still holding onto the experience - and that means everything.

This piece carries humanity’s long arc of dreaming, striving, and reaching beyond - and in that performance, it felt like we touched something real together.

With gratitude to everyone who came, supported, created, and shared this with us. It was something special.

In just a few days, four astronauts may head to the moon for the first time in more than 50 years. The Artemis II mission will send a crew on a 10-day journey beyond the moon’s far side - deeper into space than any human has traveled before.

Moments like this remind us how enduring the dream of flight and exploration really is - the same human curiosity that has inspired generations to look up and imagine what lies beyond.

That spirit is also at the heart of Christopher Tin’s To Shiver the Sky, a sweeping work that traces humanity’s quest to break the bonds of earth - drawing on texts from Ovid and Dante to Leonardo da Vinci to Amelia Earhart and John F. Kennedy’s “We choose to go to the moon.”

As we follow this next chapter of the Artemis missions, these themes feel especially resonant. On April 19, Sounds of Stow Chorus & Orchestra brings this journey to life in a multimedia performance featuring orchestra, soloists, projected imagery, astrophotography by Marsha Wilcox, and video by Dan Barstow.

Join us at Littleton High School for an afternoon that reflects humanity’s enduring dream of flight - and the sense of wonder that continues to carry us forward.

One of the most striking aspects of Christopher Tin’s To Shiver the Sky is its incredible range of languages, emotions, and perspectives, all woven into one powerful musical journey.

This short clip features us learning a passage in Sanskrit. Can you tell? The sound, rhythm, idea behind, and color of the language bring a completely different atmosphere - one of awe, intensity, and reflection.

Across the work, languages from different cultures help tell a larger story: humanity reaching, questioning, dreaming, and striving to rise beyond what feels possible. During the concert, these moments are supported by multimedia imagery and translations, helping bring meaning and context to everything you hear.

It’s just one glimpse and one more step into a much larger, immersive experience.

Join Sounds of Stow Chorus & Orchestra on April 19 at Littleton High School to hear To Shiver the Sky in all its languages, colors, and emotional depth.
