Now more than ever, it’s important to protect the freedom for anyone to access books. Participants are encouraged to bring a banned book (e-books and audiobooks are encouraged, too!) and silently read together for thirty minutes. Afterwards, there will be an activity lead by NASJA focused on protecting the right to read (details to come).

All attendees will receive a free audiobook copy of Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books by Kirsten Miller from Libro.fm.

For ideas on what books to read, see the ALA’s website for lists and more information (https://www.ala.org/bbooks)

Nationwide Economic Blackout—this is part of a plan by the People’s Union to push back on all of the recent changes by the administration and make an impact on the bottom line of billionaire donors and large corporations as a way to be heard.

The People's Union is targeting Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy, but is also asking boycotters to refrain from spending money on fast food or gas. If you must make purchases, buy from small, local businesses.

This 24-hour blackout begins at midnight on Friday, Feb 28.

We believe in all individuals' fundamental rights and equality, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. The LGBTQIA+ community, comprising le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, intersex, asexual, and other diverse identities, enriches our society with its rich tapestry of experiences, perspectives, and contributions. The Bolton Pride Parade and Rally is an example of an inclusive, family-oriented event about to happen for the third year celebrating LGBTQIA+ individuals in our community.

Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, free from discrimination, prejudice, or violence. Everyone has the right to love and be loved authentically, without fear of judgment or societal constraints.

How you can get involved
Attend Bolton’s Pride Parade and Rally on Sunday, June 4th from 2pm - 6pm
Understand how to be an Ally: https://reports.hrc.org/being-an-lgbtq-ally -to-show-your-support
Follow Greater Boston PFLAG on Instagram to educate yourself regularly https://www.instagram.com/gbpflag/

We recognize the struggles that many LGBTQIA+ individuals face, such as discrimination, harassment, and lack of legal protections, and we stand firmly against any form of bigotry or hate. Bolton’s Pride event is an example of standing together to build a future where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can live openly and authentically, supported by a community that cherishes them. Together, we can create a world where love knows no boundaries and everyone can be their true selves.
