Coming up next Saturday at St. James's Church, 1018 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford.

Join us as we sell some surplus items at the Amherst Railway Society's surplus sale. We have a ton of freight cars and a few structure kits and locomotives we'll be selling at super low prices.

The surplus sale features regular folks selling surplus hobby items and is a great chance to get some deals.

On Friday we marked the 50th anniversary of the founding of Conrail with Conrail night at the club.

We initially invited people to come and run their Conrail trains, and then decided to welcome everyone to run whatever they liked.

Conrail was famous for patch outs early on, so we did some patching too.

Thanks to everyone who came out. It was a lot of fun.

What railroad should we celebrate next?

In the photos and video: A former LV RS3, patched to Conrail, passes a UP Big Boy, also patched to Conrail.

We did some patching to the Big Boy.

We hope you had the opportunity to visit us at The Big Train Show over the weekend in West Springfield, MA. The Weekend is always memorable, and this year was no exception.

We brought 4 new modules to the show this year. Other modules have new buildings or other new details like signs or lights.

We still have a few of the new club cars available for purchase. More to come on that later.

As a club, we made the decision on Sunday Morning to pack up our layout and leave early. We want to thank all our members who helped set up the layout and those who were there early on Sunday to break down and pack. And extra big thank you to those who loaded, drove and unloaded the truck back at the clubhouse. (No names necessary we know who you are!)

We hope everyone enjoyed the show and got home safely.

Folks -

We just received our latest custom cars - Housatonic Railroad boxcars made for us by Accurail.

The cars are $30 each and will be available at the West Springfield train show this weekend.

You can find them at the New England Prototype Modelers meet tables in section 16 of the Better Living Center. Our layout will be in Mallary.

The Housatonic has one boxcar that was originally Lehigh Valley. It is car 8001. We did two numbers, 8001 and 8003.
