Springfield School Volunteers

Some people give their time.

Some share their experience.

Some listen.

Some encourage.

Some read a story.

Some simply show up.

Every act of service adds something to our community.

At Springfield School Volunteers, we're grateful for the people who choose to spend their time supporting Springfield students.

Thank you to all of our SSV volunteers for showing up, giving back, and being part of the village.

We’re so grateful to Community Bank for their generous donation to Springfield School Volunteers!

Community support like this helps us continue doing what we do best — connecting caring community members with Springfield Public Schools and helping students build meaningful relationships and connections throughout the school year!

We’re lucky to have local businesses and organizations who believe in our students and want to see our community thrive.

Thank you, Community Bank, for being part of the SSV community!

Who makes a good mentor?

Someone who listens.

Someone who is dependable.

Someone who is encouraging.

Someone who is willing to share what they know and learn something new.

Someone who believes every student has potential.

SSV mentors meet with their students once a week, showing up consistently and building a meaningful connection over time.

No prior experience is required. SSV provides the training and support mentors need to feel prepared and confident in their role.

Schools are more than buildings and classrooms. They're places where children learn, discover who they are, build friendships, and prepare for their futures.

And students don't grow in isolation.

Families, educators, volunteers, organizations, and community members all have a role to play in creating supportive environments where young people can thrive.

That's why SSV connects community members with meaningful opportunities to support students in Springfield Public Schools.

We're proud to be part of the Springfield community.
