October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and this year’s theme is 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁.

At neba, we see the skills, strengths, and potential of people with disabilities every day. We also know that celebrating their contributions means making sure their experiences are seen, their voices are heard, and they have meaningful opportunities to participate in the workforce and their communities.

The countdown is on!

Just over a week from now, the 12th Annual Holyoke/Chicopee Department of Developmental Services Art Exhibition will bring the community together to celebrate creativity, self-expression, and unique perspectives.

This year’s theme, 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝘀𝘁: 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮, promises an evening full of colorful artwork and inspiration.

October is 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 — a time to recognize the contributions of workers with disabilities and highlight the importance of employment opportunities that are accessible to everyone.

At neba, we believe employment is about more than a paycheck. Work can build confidence, independence, skills, connections, and a sense of purpose.

This month, we’ll be sharing stories, information, and reminders about what happens when people have the opportunity and support they need to succeed at work.

Because everyone has something to contribute and eveyone talent deserves to be celebrated.
