A Springfield native and graduate of Springfield Public Schools, Angel is a first-generation Mexican-American leader dedicated to expanding opportunities for others. He serves as Communications & Marketing Director for the Lane County Medical Society, where he leads physician engagement, community partnerships, and health-focused initiatives. With a background in healthcare, education, and community service, Angel has spent his career advocating for health equity and supporting underserved populations.

We're excited to have Angel's passion for service, community connection, and student success helping guide SEF's mission. Welcome to the team, Angel! 💙⭐

This is a special week for one of our incredible Board Members, Brody Wasson! Not only are we celebrating his birthday, but this week marks his one year anniversary of joining the board. Brody has been an absolute treasure, and we are so lucky to have him; his delightful, can-do attitude and creative, generous spirit have truly brightened our work and continues to inspire us! ☀️ Brody has jumped into every task feet first, including taking on the role of Chair of our Marketing Committee, and he has just accepted the position of Vice Chair of the Board for the upcoming term. Brody, thank you so much for your incredible dedication to SEF and Springfield educators and students! You truly make our community stronger, and we are so grateful to have you on our team! School's out for summer... and it's time to raise a glass to the incredible educators who made this year possible! 🍎✨ Celebrate the last day of school with us at Toast to Teachers TODAY at PublicHousehub!

This month's Toast to Teachers fundraiser will benefit Chifin Native Youth Center, a vital program that provides academic support, cultural enrichment, mentorship, and community for Native American students in Springfield. By stopping by for dinner, drinks, or a sweet treat, you'll be helping support opportunities that empower local youth to thrive.

A huge thank you to PublicHouse and their generous vendors for making this event possible month after month: The Nave Kitchen, Moi Poki Grill, Shalosh, and of course the BeerHall and Whiskey Lab. Together, we're celebrating the people who make a difference in students' lives while investing in programs that help students succeed.

School buses aren't usually this exciting... Then again, they're not usually carrying $55,000 in grants! 🚌🎉

Last week, the Springfield Education Foundation's Grant Giving Tour traveled to 14 schools across Springfield Public Schools - OR, surprising educators with more than $55,000 in funding for innovative projects that will create over 7,200 learning opportunities for local students.

From drumline celebrations and happy tears to big surprises and even bigger smiles, these photos from LifeSlice Photography capture the incredible energy of a community coming together to support students.

A huge thank you to our volunteers, grant evaluators, board members, and donors who helped make this day a success. We are deeply grateful to the organizations whose support make these grants possible: Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund, Sierra Pacific Industries Foundation, SELCO Community Credit Union, Columbia Bank, and OnPoint Community Credit Union.
