Last night’s Kalispel Tribe of Indians Better Together Celebration was a meaningful reminder of the connections, traditions and stories that bring our community together.

As Northern Quest Resort & Casino celebrates its 25th anniversary, it was especially meaningful to see Leadership Spokane Class of 2027 student Alec Bluff and his family featured in “One Family’s Story: 25 Years.” Alec also participated in the evening’s drum circle, bringing culture, tradition and community together in a powerful way.

We’re grateful to the Kalispel Tribe for hosting this celebration and recognizing the nonprofit organizations making a difference throughout the Inland Northwest. Through its philanthropic initiatives, Northern Quest has contributed $26 million to support local nonprofits and community organizations.

A special thank-you to our wonderful table captain, Alec, for also being such a gracious host and delivering an amazing performance with his band, Frog Island!

For 25 years, Northern Quest has been about more than a destination. It's been about people, family, opportunity and lasting community impact. Congratulations to Northern Quest on 25 incredible years!

Thank you to the Kalispel Tribe and Northern Quest Resort amp; Casino for investing in our community and celebrating the people and stories that make us all .

Regional Economy Day is a wrap!

A huge thank-you to Numerica Credit Union for sponsoring the day and providing our awesome class T-shirts!

We’re also incredibly grateful to the speakers, alumni, local businesses, volunteers and participants who helped make this day a success.

The Class of 2027 kicked off the morning with a countywide scavenger hunt, exploring key locations throughout Spokane County. In the afternoon, Dr. Patrick Jones, institute director of Spokane Trends, gave a presentation. Students then heard from a panel of regional leaders, followed by presentations from our wonderful hosts at Joya Child & Family Development and Spokane County Auditor Vicky Dalton.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Regional Economy Day a memorable experience!

It’s another spotlight on our Class of 2027! 🌟

Meet Adriana, a development officer at The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture.

▪ What is your favorite locally owned business or restaurant?
It’s a tie between Wooden City and Sorella — I couldn’t possibly choose!
▪ What was your first job?
I was a daycare attendant at the old Gold’s Gym North.
▪ What is a goal or hobby you are currently pursuing?
Now that my kids are older, I’m really trying to be more intentional about reading for pleasure.
▪ Do you have a personal motto or favorite quote?
“You can choose to be a survivor, or simply a victim of circumstance.” — Dr. Edith Eger (said to me personally in a letter)
▪ How do you connect to your community?
I love getting out there and networking. It’s such a great way to meet all kinds of people doing all kinds of things in the Lilac City. I feel being out in the community is the best way to connect to the community.

We’re excited to have Adriana as part of the Leadership Spokane Class of 2027! 💙
