Our students deserve opportunities to explore, connect, and experience something new. 🎡💙

Our South Carolina State Fair trip brought those opportunities to life—and the students’ feedback shows why they matter.

Before the trip, 6 of 12 survey respondents said they would not have been able to attend this year without ABF.

Of the 13 responses collected after the trip:

💙 12 felt very or extremely supported by our mentors.
🤝 11 felt very or extremely connected to other students.
🌎 10 were more interested in visiting new places.

This is why we keep showing up. Every experience is an opportunity to build relationships, expand horizons, and help young people see more of what’s possible.

Thank you to our families for trusting us and to our mentors for giving their time, care, and energy to our students. We’re grateful to do this work together! 🙌🏾

You never know where you’ll see ABF or where we’ll take you next—and that’s the point. 🌍💙

Exposure matters. Every new experience is a chance for our young people to see beyond what’s familiar, rethink what’s possible, and discover something new to reach for. We’re expanding horizons, one experience at a time. 💛

A look back at one of our trips to Atlanta, Georgia, where our young people had the opportunity to visit the High Museum of Art and experience something outside of their everyday environment.

At ABF, we believe young people need more than programs—they need exposure to new places, new ideas, new cultures, and new possibilities. Every experience gives them another opportunity to see beyond what they already know and imagine what could be next.

And one thing about us… no matter where we go, we’re going to learn, laugh, build relationships, and have a good time together. 😂🙌🏾

Real mentorship is more than a lesson plan. It’s showing up, sharing a laugh, having honest conversations, and making time beyond the classroom. 💙💛

At The Allen Blash Foundation, we celebrate our young people’s progress. We tell them the truth. We hold them accountable. And we make time to enjoy life with them—because building a relationship means more than correcting behavior. 🤝🏾

Every moment doesn’t have to be a lesson. Sometimes, it’s simply being present, having fun, and letting a young person know they matter. Those moments are part of the work, too.

We’re committed to relationships built on genuine care, consistency, and mutual respect. Our young people deserve that.

Young people can tell when you genuinely care—and when you’re just going through the motions. 💯

At The Allen Blash Foundation, we build relationships. We learn our students’ stories, listen to their concerns, celebrate their growth, and keep showing up. 🤝🏾❤️

We see the light in them, even when they’re still learning to see it in themselves. ✨ And we hold them accountable because we believe in who they can become.

The respect our students give us comes from trust. They know our care is sincere. They know we mean what we say. They know they can count on us.

That’s the ABF difference: genuine relationships, consistent mentors, and young people who know they matter. Every student deserves that. 🖤🙌🏾

Last night was bigger than an orientation — it was about preparing our returning mentors to move from serving to leading. 💪🏾🎓🔥

I had the opportunity to host our Collaborative Mentorship Orientation at Wofford College, bringing together returning student mentors from Wofford College and USC Upstate who will help support and lead over 20+ programs at multiple schools throughout the different districts in Spartanburg County.

Alongside Dr. Alyssa Handelman and Wofford Community Sustainability ; with training led by Nick Blash, we challenged our students to get outside of their comfort zones and understand that mentorship is more than simply showing up. It requires preparation, accountability, consistency, and leadership. 💯

We were very intentional and hands-on in our approach. These students walked away with practical tools, real scenarios, and strategies they can actually use when working with young people. 📝🤝🏾

I’m extremely proud of our returning mentors for continuing to step up and serve. Now, many of them are being trusted to help manage and lead programs throughout Spartanburg County .

Through Wofford’s Sustainability Cohort, students manage support programs including Chef’s Club, Kings Club, Queens Club, offered through Kids Upstate , and more.

Through The Allen Blash Foundation, our mentors will help lead programs including Teens in Technology, After-School Inspiring Minds, Academic Athletic Excellence, and several other youth initiatives throughout our community. 🚀💻📚🏀

This is what collaboration looks like. Colleges, community organizations, and young leaders working together to create consistent support for the next generation.

We’re proud of them — and now it’s time to get to work. 🙌🏾❤️

Our AIM students spent time working on missing assignments—with encouragement, guidance, and accountability along the way. We want our young people to know that asking for help is a strength, following through matters, and they have people willing to walk beside them. 🤝

We’re proud of their effort as they learn to take ownership of their education, one assignment and one choice at a time. 🌟
