The Greenwood FFA Alumni & Supporters is excited to announce the purchase of the Perry County Dairy Promotion Ice Cream Trailer, ensuring the continuation of a long-standing tradition of serving quality frozen dairy desserts at the Perry County Fair and numerous community events throughout the year.
For decades, the trailer has promoted Pennsylvania’s dairy industry while providing delicious ice cream to thousands of fairgoers and families. Under its new ownership, the Greenwood FFA Alumni & Supporters is committed to preserving that legacy while using the trailer as a unique fundraising opportunity to support agricultural education in Perry County.
Since acquiring the trailer, alumni volunteers have already invested countless hours transforming it with new flooring, updated cabinetry, fresh exterior paint, and numerous other improvements to provide an enhanced experience for customers and volunteers alike.
The Alumni is grateful for this exciting opportunity to continue sharing the joy of dairy with our community. Every cone, milkshake, and scoop of ice cream purchased helps invest in the future of agriculture by supporting local FFA members and agricultural education programs.
Funds raised through trailer operations directly benefit FFA Chapters by helping provide leadership development opportunities, scholarships, classroom resources, student activities, and agricultural education initiatives that impact local students.
The Greenwood FFA Alumni & Supporters extends its sincere appreciation to the FFA Alumni leadership for their vision and dedication throughout this project. A special thank you is also extended to Irene Osborne for her leadership and assistance during the transition, helping ensure this valued community tradition will continue for years to come.
The public is invited to visit the newly renovated ice cream trailer during its first event under Greenwood FFA Alumni & Supporters ownership at the Perry County Community Fair, running August 18–22. The trailer will be conveniently located across from the livestock barns, serving a variety of frozen dairy favorites throughout the week.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a sweet treat, and support the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Every scoop of ice cream supports agricultural education right here in Perry County.🍦
