We have our third and final bench being delivered shortly. On behalf of those we serve (they will be using the benches while they wait for their turn to shop), we appreciate all of the support to help us get new benches! ❤️

We want to take a moment to say Happy Birthday (early), Josh!! His actual birthday is in a couple days, and he won't be at the food bank on his actual birthday so we took a moment today to celebrate him. Josh has been volunteering here at the food bank for about 2 years now. He loves lifting heavy boxes.

Thank you so much to Mt Zion Friendship Circle for ordering a new bench for our food bank. We have another one ordered and on its way. We are still looking to get 1 more bench.

Last Friday, our board members and director attended the Perry County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. Congratulations to Taira Roush Little and Lindsay Hutchinson/People's Provisions who received well-deserved awards for their outstanding work in our community!

Recently a few of our outdoor seating benches unexpectedly broke. We would love to replace them with new ones. We would really like to get 3 new benches. Would you be willing to order one for the food bank? If so, please let us know!

Thank you to PA State Rep. Perry Stambaugh for hosting the Disability and Special Care Expo. We were able to participate in the event. It allowed us to connect with our neighbors who may be struggling with food insecurity.

We hosted our neighbors from the YWCA Greater Harrisburg who conducted their Clothesline Project in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The YWCA helps to raise awareness, stand in solidarity with and support survivors in our community.

🚐 FRIDAY – FIELD TRIP FRIDAYS

Alright… the guesses are in 👀
And many of you got it right.

This week, we visited Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank in New Bloomfield.
And here’s what we saw:

This isn’t just a food distribution site.
It’s a system built around dignity, choice, and community.

Families aren’t handed a box and sent on their way … They shop. They choose. They’re treated with respect.

📦 Shelves stocked through partnerships and donations
🤝 Volunteers turning time into impact
🏡 A space built to support neighbors when they need it most

And that number we shared yesterday?
👉 1,600–2,000 people served every single month right here in Perry County.

That’s not just a statistic.

That’s families. That’s kids. That’s our community.

When businesses support organizations like Neighbor Helping Neighbor, they’re also supporting the people who live and work right here in Perry County.

It takes more than just food to operate our food bank. Financial donations are paramount for us to keep going. Our neighbors at Pennsylvania Skill Charitable Giving recognize the need in our community and our hard work. They stopped by with a generous donation. We are grateful for their monetary support.
