🦜 A new species has arrived at SARA 🦜

Meet Chica (a Parakeet) and Jules (a Solomon Island Eclectus Parrot), who arrived last week and are hoping to find their forever homes after their previous owner passed away.

Chica has a lot to say, especially in the morning! And Jules may be the calmest animal in the entire sanctuary.

This pair come complete with their cages to be rehomed to be rehomed together.

They can be found on our Petfinder or DM to meet them 💚

Then surpassing our next goal of $25k, making us eligible for a match 🤞🏻

Huber headed home last week with the Jaykins family after his first CrossFit WOD and it seems he was the perfect fit!

We do our best to keep our page light, showing you the positive side of sanctuary life like adoptions and incredible transformations…

A lot of the time it’s like that, there are constant wins for our animals…

And a lot of the time we’re doing our best to keep everyone fed, watered, cleaned and given the medical attention they need.

Our running costs are over $2000 a day and right now we’re running low on food (especially for our puppies and pigs), pushing back medical treatments because we are forced to make choices between feeding lots of animals or taking care of ones medical needs, we’re trying to improve our fencing to keep everyone (animals, staff volunteers and visitors) all safe and it’s not easy.

Amplify Austin could not have come at a better time for us, a big push to ask for donations before tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 6pm.

There are matches on the line, you can win prizes and most importantly we can help these animals, over 750 count on us daily.

This week we joined forces Seguin Animal Control to save Lola.

Lola was living in an area where pigs were not allowed and she kept getting out.

With the option being slaughter or a long life with us, we chose the latter.

Buccee the bunny was adopted, huge thank you to Ladonna who we know will give him the best life ever!

One of Priscilla’s puppies was adopted by Charles and Emily, happy gotcha day!

And we were excited that Venus (pictured with one of our team Mundo) was returned to her dad today after he had a lengthy hospital stay.

It’s been a happy Valentine’s Day y’all 💕
