After many conversations and a lot of heavy reflection, Simon the Service Dog is retiring. 🐾

This decision wasn’t easy. Simon has stood beside me through so many chapters over the last 4 years; quietly doing his job, steady and loyal in ways only a service dog truly understands. He has carried responsibilities most dogs never will, and he did it with patience, heart, and unwavering devotion.

But his health needs have changed, and loving him means listening to what his body needs now. It’s time for Simon to lay down his working harness and step into a new role: simply being my at-home office dog; he will still 'work from home.' 🐾

His days will now be filled with naps, sunshine, milkbones, his basset and all the love he has more than earned. He will still have the occasional outting, but not in an official capacity.

Over the coming months, Simon will begin helping train his understudy; so stay tuned for updates on the next "little" partner who will be learning from the very best teacher.

Service dogs give us their whole hearts while they work. Now it’s my turn to give Simon the peaceful retirement he deserves. 💙🐕‍🦺
