October 16, 2026: SAT/PSAT/NACAC College and Career Readiness Day at FHS

On the morning of Friday October 16, All FHS students will be taking part in activities to prepare for life after high school!

Grade 12– All students will be taking the SAT college entrance exam at FHS. Students will meet in their Advisory classes, unless directed to other locations.
Grade 11 – All students will be taking the PSAT/NSMQT exam to measure college readiness and confer scholarship opportunities. Students will meet in their Advisory classes, unless directed to other locations.
Grades 9 & 10 – All students will be attending the NACAC National College Fair at the Seattle Convention Center to explore hundreds of possible options for post-secondary opportunities.
Students have automatically been registered for these activities for that morning. Students going to the College Fair will be bringing home permission slips in early October. That day, we will have an abbreviated six-period schedule in the afternoon. Stay tuned for more details! This is a reminder there will be no school for students on Friday, October 9 for Teacher In-Service Day. This is a statewide training day for all public school educators. Teachers, administrators, and school support staff will spend this time working together to support student success. School will resume on Monday.

Dear Franklin families and staff,

This morning, Wednesday, Oct. 7, staff discovered antisemitic graffiti on our campus. It contained language and symbols targeting Jewish members of our community. It is hateful, and it violates the values of respect, inclusion, and belonging we hold at Franklin.

Once the graffiti was reported, staff took immediate steps to cover the affected areas, began the removal process, and immediately initiated an investigation.

Acts of antisemitism and hate have no place in our school community. We recognize that incidents like this can cause harm, fear, and distress, particularly for our Jewish students, families, staff, and community members. We are committed to ensuring that all students and staff feel safe, respected, and supported at school.

Franklin is working with SPS Safety and Security to investigate this incident. Security staff are reviewing available camera footage as part of the investigation.

We encourage families to speak with their students about the importance of treating others with dignity and respect and reporting any behavior or incidents that may harm members of our school community. Franklin and SPS support staff are available in the counseling offices for students and staff who want additional support.

Please remember, we all play a role in school safety. You can call or text the SPS SaferWatch School Safety Tipline at 206-222-4357 to report threats, safety concerns, or incidents of harassment and intimidation. This phone number is managed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
