Terribly sad to report that Urban Earth Nursery is closing at the end of month because the property has been sold to a developer. They’ve been a donor to the Garden Share for years and we will miss these kind people dearly.

The donations for the last Garden Share of the year on Sept 13th will be going to the GoFundMe for the staff who will be out of work and we would encourage folks to donate and share the GoFundMe themselves if able.

We are overwhelmed with love and gratitude for the outpour of support in our community after our announcement yesterday. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you ALL. 💚 For those wondering what you can do to continue to support us, we thank you for your compassion and fight. Here are some things that we as a team would find helpful right now, and thank you for all our community has done over the years. With love and gratitude, Fremont, we are honored to have been here.

1) Continue to support us so long as we are HERE. Shop small and local, buy art and gifts from local creatives at the shop, be in the space with us while it lasts.
2) Come to our End of The Earth party!
3) If you are able and called, we have a go fund me up to provide severance and living wages to our staff. We thank you or any donation or spreading of the word.
4) Go to town halls, commons meetings, and building input sessions to speak up for other small business and against unnecessary development that takes away the charm and individuality that Fremont nurtures. Make your voice HEARD!
5) Continue to shop small, local, and q***r owned in Fremont, and in all of Seattle. Even when it is inconvenient to leave the house or neighborhood, vote with your dollars and show small businesses that they still have a place here in Seattle.
6) Get the word out! Tag, email, call, DM- anything you can do to spread the news to friends, family, or media outlets. This eases awareness and highlights community action.
7) Continue to love your plants, to love each other, and to love this Earth so long as you have the chance. Go forth with strength, knowledge, compassion, and love.
