Our treble choirs welcome and affirm girls and gender expansive youth. Established in 1972, Northwest Girlchoir revolutionizes choral education by rejoicing in students’ voices and creativity through embodied music-making. Guided by our commitment to anti-racism, we inspire joy, belonging, and confidence, and cultivate community through shared experience. Our treble choirs welcome and affirm girls
and all youth marginalized by gender. Four auditioned choir levels—Amabile, Vivace, Amore, and Ensemble, serve singers in grades 5-12. Two non-auditioned programs are Prep Choir which serves singers in grades 1-2 and Fresca which serves singers in grades 3+. In a joyful and supportive environment, choristers in Northwest Girlchoir sing, learn, and grow - as musicians and as young people. In 6 different choir levels, singers develop healthy technique, build musicianship skills, and develop creative and collaborative skills. Through a rich rehearsal process, they prepare for public, main stage concerts and community performances throughout the year.
