These incredible girls made history by capturing WSLL’s first-ever Softball State Championship and the third State Championship in league history. We couldn’t be more proud of their hard work, determination, and heart.

🥎🏆 STATE CHAMPIONS! 🏆🥎

West Seattle Little League is proud to celebrate an incredible milestone as our 11U All-Star Softball team captured the 2026 Washington State Championship on Saturday!

After dropping their opening game, this resilient group battled all the way through the consolation bracket, winning six straight games to finish 6-1 in the tournament. Along the way, they outscored opponents 55-10 and defeated the same Magnolia team that handed them their only loss, not once, but twice, to bring home the state title.

This is a historic moment for WSLL Softball. Since launching the softball program in 2022, this is the program’s first-ever Washington State Championship. It also marks just the third state championship in West Seattle Little League history, joining the 2017 11U Baseball and 2018 12U Baseball state title teams.

Every player contributed throughout an unforgettable week. Mackenzie Hart led the way in the circle with 36 innings pitched, a 0.67 ERA, and 48 strikeouts, while Sosie Smutka provided scoreless relief. At the plate, Emory Sizemore paced the offense with 9 hits and 10 RBIs, with Ada Sten, Mackenzie Hart, and Mave Saka each adding 7 hits. Carmen Procopio caught every inning of all seven games, while Ainsley Fraser and Sosie Smutka anchored a stellar defense. Charlotte Wilhelmsen, Norah Fox, Molly Wintermute, Leona Hill, and Edith Bonaci all delivered clutch hits and RBIs throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to these amazing players, coaches, and families on an unforgettable run. We couldn’t be more proud to call you STATE CHAMPIONS! ❤️🖤

🎉 From Bar-S Playfield to the Big Leagues! ⚾

Congratulations to Miles Gosztola on being selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 8th round of the 2026 MLB Draft! đź‘Ź

Three years after graduating from West Seattle High School, Miles has earned his shot at professional baseball following an outstanding collegiate career at the University of Oregon. After transferring from Gonzaga, the left-handed pitcher became a key part of the Ducks’ starting rotation, finishing the season with a 3.61 ERA over 62+ innings.

For West Seattle Little League, this is a proud full-circle moment. Miles’ baseball journey began right here at Bar-S Playfield, where he helped lead WSLL to 11U State Championship honors in 2017 and a 12U State Championship in 2018. He later went on to set the Washington state career strikeout record during his remarkable career at West Seattle High School (Class of 2023).

We’re incredibly proud of everything you’ve accomplished, Miles. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of West Seattle Little Leaguers.

West Seattle Little League is thrilled to host a State Tournament for the second year in a row!

Now, from July 25 – August 2, Softball 8/9/10 All-Star teams from across Washington will compete at Bar-S Playfield right here in West Seattle. We can’t wait to welcome players, families, and fans for an exciting week of great softball.

A huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who helped get Bar-S looking its best and tournament-ready. This event wouldn’t be possible without your time, hard work, and dedication.

A special shoutout to our VP of Softball, Nic Romero, who spent countless hours leading the preparation and making sure everything was ready for an amazing tournament!

The need for helping hands is not over. To make this week successful, we still need volunteers each day for field, prep, snack shack, parking attendants, announcers, and more. See link in bio for the details and sign up sheet (be sure to toggle between the worksheets within the document). 🥎❤️🖤

The Dub Sea Fish Sticks is graciously extending discounted tickets to our WSLL community for their game on Friday, July 31 at 6:35pm. This is the second to last game of the Fish Sticks season! Come be part of the fun before the season ends!

The 2026 WSLL state teams – Baseball 11s & 12s, and Softball 11s, will be recognized on the field before the game around 6:15pm.

What an amazing run at the State Tournament, finishing with a 2–2 record! We couldn’t be more proud of the grit, determination, and heart this team showed every step of the way.
