The culinary elective has come to an end, and this crew has grown in their kitchen skills! From knife skills to reading recipes, from measuring to whipping, and from being guided to executing their own recipes with sous chefs, they have so much more confidence to whip up a meal.
The last three weeks each student has taken the lead as head chef with two sous chefs. Their job was to plan a meal, $20 limit, and execute the preparation. They went to the store to price their meal then wrote out the recipe. Then, it was go time. Every student had to prepare a meal with the help of two sous chefs.
From churros to tacos, to pasta and smoothies, students were in charge and did a great job! I am confident that they can walk into a kitchen and prepare food!
