The Center for Active Living

The Center for Active Living Everyone is welcome at The Center for Active Living. We used to be the Senior Center of West Seattle.

We are a vibrant social gathering place for our community where people can find friendship, healthy activities and meaningful engagement as they age. We support the physical, mental and emotional health of our community's seniors through a wide range of fun activities, programs and events. The Senior Center is also a gateway to services that many of us need as we get older including meals, counseling and referrals to other critical social services.

August is National Make-A-Will Month!

So it's a great time to pause and remember how important it is to have a will or estate plan in place.

Creating or updating your will isn’t just about finances. It is one of the most powerful and thoughtful acts of peace of mind you can give yourself and your loved ones.

Common myths about wills:
- You only need one if you have children.
- You only need one if you are wealthy.
- Once you create one, you never need to touch it again.

Having a plan in place is actually important for adults of all ages, regardless of the value of your assets or whether you have heirs. And experts say you should review your will after major life events such as marriage, divorce, the birth of a child or grandchild or the loss of a loved one.

Taking charge of your estate plan empowers you to make your own choices about how you want your finances, medical decisions and other important wishes honored.
