We are still looking for food donations and volunteers for the Senior Breakfast on Monday, June 15! Principal Vance will be flipping the flapjacks, and we need hearty breakfast foods and fruit to help feed our 300+ seniors. We also need volunteers to help with set-up, serving, and clean-up. The Music Department Spring Concerts are this week! Students are excited to present the work they have been doing and celebrate our seniors at their final performances with our ensembles. All concerts will take place in the WSHS Theater.

WSHS PTSA presented its annual Golden Apple Awards to Mariah Doll and Matthew Van Duyn at today’s staff meeting. The Golden Apple Awards recognize outstanding educators who have gone beyond the normal expectations of their job to make the learning environment fun, beneficial and challenging. Ms. Doll and Dr. Van Duyn have each had an extraordinary impact in the classroom, with their colleagues and in our community. Please congratulate them the next time you see them!

Our final general membership meeting is on Thursday, June 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the WSHS Library and on Zoom (https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85949474730 or link in bio).

This is very important meeting. We will get the final school update from Principal Vance, vote on the 2026-2027 budget, vote on the 2026-2027 Board Executive Committee and present the Golden Acorn Award for this year.

Many, many thanks to the entire West Seattle community for your support of the West Seattle 5K! We applaud Pam Hembrow and her team for such a great event that raises funds to support WSHS students and staff. See you all next year on May 16, 2027!

The PTSA warmly invites all graduating seniors and their families to a reception celebrating the Class of 2026 on Thursday May 21. Immediately following Senior Awards Night, please gather with us in the Commons to enjoy a dessert buffet and a themed photo booth to capture some memories with your senior. This Sunday, May 17 is the West Seattle 5K, WSHS PTSA’s biggest event and fundraiser of the year!
We need eight adults to serve as Road Guards for the event. The Road Guards will help manage traffic at the minor intersections along the race route that are not monitored by SPD.
The Road Guards will be trained at 8:30 a.m. at the volunteer desk near the Statue of Liberty on Alki and will guard their roads until 11:30 a.m.
