Sakura-Con is the oldest and most well-attended anime convention in the Pacific Northwest. a party for anime fans at the Double Tree Inn, in Tukwila Washington.

Sakura-Con features cultural exploration and education through traditional and contemporary media, arts and entertainment. Sakura-Con is the northwest's oldest and largest anime, manga (comics), gaming, and Asian culture convention. Hosted by the Asia Northwest Cultural Education Association, a 501c3 non profit, Sakura-Con began in 1998 as a small, three-day event . The convention has grown dramatically over the years in terms of size and mission. Operated by a 100% all-volunteer staff, our main goal is for everyone to have fun and to foster learning more about the cultures that bring us our favorite media. We started Sakura-Con because we missed the fun, multi-level anime conventions where something was always happening and you were afraid to eat lunch for fear of missing something you really wanted to see. We were tired of the professionally run conventions that herded you into a room to see a speaker for one hour, than herded you into a line for an autograph and closed in time for you to be home for supper! Some of our fondest memories were of gulping down a salad in 10 minutes so we wouldn't miss a panel we wanted to see or spending hours in the hotel bar with the cast and crew of various shows, comic books, authors, etc. We missed the friendly guests who really liked meeting their fans and having as much fun as we were having. So we decided to start a convention. We returned to the older-style 24-hour convention with dances, karaoke, panels, anime theater rooms, great guests, and a staff that really knows and cares about the fandom because we are part of it too! You may have a hard time finding time to sleep!

Welcome to 𝐉𝐨𝐞 𝐙𝐢𝐞𝐣𝐚 to our 2027 Sakura-Con lineup!

Joe Zieja is the voice behind some of gaming and animation's most iconic characters, including Bumblebee in Transformers, Claude von Riegan in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Fox McCloud in Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins. A lifelong gamer and self-professed RPG addict, Joe brings genuine passion to every role—whether he's leading a house of misfits at Garreg Mach or barrel-rolling through the Lylat system. He's also heard as Wriothesley in Genshin Impact, Raphica in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and Wolf in Destiny Rising among many other roles in games, animation, and anime.

Before stepping into the booth, Joe served as an Air Force intelligence officer, which he insists is far less exciting than it sounds. He traded in the uniform for a microphone and never looked back, building a voice acting career the scrappy way—no formal training, only relentless work and experimentation. He now is the CEO of LearnVoiceActing.com as well, with a mission to make voice acting training accessible and empowering for anyone, anywhere.

When he's not recording, Joe can usually be found gaming, remixing video game music, exploring ancient mythology, or writing novels like his Amazon bestseller EPIC FAILURE trilogy, published by Simon and Schuster. He's thrilled to meet fans, swap gaming stories, and sign whatever you put in front of him (within reason).

Sakura-Con 2027 is excited to welcome voice actor Griffin Burns to our guest lineup.

Raised in rural Pennsylvania, Griffin moved to LA in 2010 with an English degree, an acoustic guitar, and some beginner’s luck.

He booked his first voice over audition ever for San Diego’s Balboa Park and landed a small co-star appearance on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Two years later, Griffin quit his ‘survival jobs’ as a valet and began voice acting full time. His most notable roles include Tartaglia from Genshin Impact, Doppio in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Muichiro in Demon Slayer, Akira Fudo in Devilman Crybaby, Tadano in Aggretsuko, C**t Grice in Attack on Titan, Ryota in Kakegurui, Jintan in Anohana, Todd Snap in New Pokemon Snap, Shinichi Kudo in Case Closed, Ritsuka Fujimaru in Fate: Grand Order, and many, many others.

Griffin is also known for his memes on social media and his band New New Girlfriend. He’s always down to engage with his fans, so stop by and say hello!
