When Restorative Justice Becomes a Shield for White Supremacy: Homelander in the Age of MAGA (Part 2)

In Part 1, we talked about Homelander, Donald Trump, and the difference between toxic shame and pro-social accountability.

Now, Dr. Tracy Castro-Gill is taking us into the classroom to show what happens when schools get restorative justice dead wrong.

When K-12 schools adopt blanket zero-shame initiatives, restorative justice is stripped of its core mechanism: pro-social shame and community repair. Instead of holding harm-doers accountable, these policies are being weaponized to protect white, cis-male privilege, allowing toxic behaviors to flourish while leaving students of color unprotected.

In Part 2 of this series, Dr. Castro-Gill breaks down real classroom vignettes, examining how white fragility, weaponized tears, and the loss of collective boundaries in education mirror the rise of MAGA politics.

Read Part 2 of Homelander in the Age of MAGA and learn why we must restore pro-social accountability to our schools:
