Over 48 hours, the 831 Experience surrounds each guest with meaningful support through:

8 Touchpoints of Urgent Care — hygiene and grooming, nourishment, medical screening, clinical resources, mental health support, restoration of belongings, housing and shelter connections, and pathways toward economic stability.

3 Transformational Moments — honoring each person’s story without judgment, making sure they feel truly seen in the present, and helping illuminate a dignified path toward housing, employment, and greater stability.

1 Powerful Celebration — a closing family-style gathering that reminds every guest that their journey does not end when the event does. Through continued connection, hygiene support, and personal check-ins, the message is clear:

You are seen. You have value. You are never alone.

For someone experiencing homelessness, access to a shower, clean clothing, grooming, nourishment, and compassionate care can mean far more than meeting an immediate need. It can help restore confidence, self-worth, and the belief that moving forward is possible.

At the 831 Experience, dignity is not an extra. It is where restoration begins.

MYTH: People are unhoused because they are lazy.

FACTS: Many unhoused individuals HAVE JOBS. The main problem? Wages are too low, and rent is too high. The national minimum wage fails to secure basic housing anywhere in America.
Perspective Check: When a worker is injured (a structural failure), we provide care. When low wages and high rents strike, we must provide structural support, not blame.
