Scarborough Land Trust

Scarborough Land Trust Scarborough Land Trust (SLT) conserves land for people, for wildlife – forever.

We are a private, non-profit, community-based organization committed to conserving land where natural resources, scenic vistas and historical significance offer unique value to our community. At 50 square miles, Scarborough is one of the largest towns in southern Maine, and one of the fastest-growing in the state. SLT works with many partners, donors and volunteers to conserve land for public benefit. Check out our website to learn more about our protected properties and public trails.

We're still dreaming about the Broadturn Farm Bash!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the SLT Bash at Broadturn Farm! It was an evening that reminded us just how much can happen when a community comes together for the land we love.

Together, more than 230 people came out to celebrate and support Scarborough Land Trust and we raised $105,000 for new a new conservation project!

A huge thank you to our Business Community Partners, volunteers, vendors, musicians, Broadturn Farm, staff and everyone who made the evening possible. And most of all, thank you to everyone who believes in keeping Scarborough’s natural spaces protected and accessible for generations to come.

Calling all treasure hunters! 🔎

Did you know that Scarborough Land Trust offers letterboxing, our nature-inspired spin on geocaching? This self-guided adventure is designed to help you explore SLT preserves in a whole new way.

We've hidden letterboxes at nine different preserves, each tucked away in a secret location waiting to be discovered. Inside each box, you'll find a notepad, pencil, stamp, stamp pad, and sticker to help document your adventure.

Keep track of the letterboxes you find in a personal notebook and collect a unique stamp from each location. Find all nine and earn a special prize!

Visit our website for clues and directions to each preserve. Along the way, you'll also learn about the history, ecology, and geology of the properties while keeping an eye out for the many natural treasures waiting to be discovered.
