We want to let you know about a pressing need at the Mission and to ask for your help.
Our 7,000-square-foot building sits over a narrow, tight crawlspace that has made HVAC service difficult for as long as we've been here. For over 20 years, every HVAC company we've contacted has declined to work under the building once they've seen the access conditions. We've done our best over the years to patch and maintain the system ourselves, but we've reached the end of the road.
Two plumbing leaks in the last two years have saturated the crawlspace and accelerated the deterioration of the entire system. The ductwork is rotted out and beyond repair. The whole system needs to be replaced.
After a long search, we have found one company willing to take on the job. The cost is $21,000.
If you've ever visited Savannah in the summer, you know the heat and humidity here are punishing. Our men and women live, study, and worship in this building. Functioning air conditioning isn't a luxury for us, it's a basic need for the health and safety of the people in our care.
