SCAD SERVE SCAD SERVE empowers the SCAD community to make meaningful contributions through intentional initiatives that improve quality of life for our communities.

Who We Are

SCAD SERVE brings together the SCAD community to listen to the needs of its neighbors and local leaders, and to envision meaningful design solutions that improve quality of life. Through active engagement and volunteerism in the university’s hometowns of Atlanta and Savannah, SCAD SERVE seeks to make a positive impact on four critical areas of need: food, shelter, clothing, and environment.

This past Saturday, SCAD SERVE volunteers helped visitors of the Oatland Island Wildlife Center complete a fun scavenger hunt throughout the trail! ✨🐊

With tasks like learning about hogs Ramone and Fernando and finding flowers at the Pollination Station, participants got to experience an educational opportunity in an exciting environment! The passport was designed by one of our own, SCAD SERVE Fellow Joli Reyes. 💚

SCAD SERVE recently rolled into KIPP Woodson Park Academy in Atlanta, bringing creativity, connection, and a whole lot of joy! Our team delivered brand new art supplies to support their arts program and spent time with an incredible first grade class. From big smiles to even bigger imaginations, it was a day full of inspiration, excitement, and happiness. 🎨✨

Ms. Stifler, Principal, remarked, “The generosity of SCAD SERVE was just beautiful! We feel honored to be chosen. Art is so important in the lives of all humans, and especially for young students who at times are navigating big emotions, especially in underserved communities. Art gives them the opportunity to calm down, feel free, and release. The generosity of SCAD ensures that we can offer high-quality art experiences to our scholars, filled with all of the resources! Our first graders’ screaming with excitement when they saw the supplies tells the full story—awe, wonder, and extreme thanks from our whole community!”

Tiombe Sabour, K-4 Art Teacher, said, “Our students were beyond excited—seeing their joy said it all. I’m so grateful for such a meaningful experience for our students. These art materials will give them endless artistic opportunities in the classroom. Please extend my heartfelt thanks to the SCAD SERVE team and SCAD’s amazing students.”
