Encompass is a nonprofit organization with about 40 programs county-wide providing services in behavioral health, family and social well-being, early childhood education, housing, and more. We touch hundreds of lives in the community each year by providing access to:

Housing
Counseling for individuals, families and youth
Substance use recovery programs
Head Start and Pre-K
Reentry services
Health

and financial services

As the largest community-based nonprofit in the county with a rich history, we know living a healthy life includes access to positive social, economic and educational opportunities. We exist to create pathways toward equity in these areas while serving our neighbors with compassion and dignity.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day, a time for bringing our community together to take action on overdose. Our amazing Encompass Substance Use Recovery & Integrated Behavioral Health Team attended the SafeRx/Watsonville Community Hospital Overdose Awareness event last week in honor of this important day.
Overdose continues to affect every community; yet it can be prevented. We encourage everyone to speak openly, learn from one another, and treat each other with care and respect so that we can build a community where fewer lives are lost. 💜

It's National Health Center Week, celebrating community health organizations delivering affordable, comprehensive care that is community-driven and improves health for all. This year's theme, "Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most," reminds us that innovation can be realized and demonstrated through our community partnerships.

At Encompass, we believe access to care should never depend on finding the "right door" first. Through our partnerships with fellow members of Santa Cruz County's Safety Net Coalition including Santa Cruz Community Health, Salud Para La Gente, the County of Santa Cruz, and Dientes, we connect individuals and families with medical, housing, and supportive services outside of Encompass to ensure they have the opportunity to heal and thrive.

🚨Important changes to CalFresh and Denti-Cal benefits! The elimination of full-scope Denti-Cal for adults with UIS (unsatisfactory immigration status) has been delayed to July 2027.
