IAD and Santa Cruz City Ballet have been serving Santa Cruz County for nearly 20 years and we are so delighted you are part of our dance family.

We are so happy to have survived and thrived through these challenging times with your unwavering support and commitment to "just keep dancing" ~

We are proud of what we have created here and more importantly - we are proud of YOU for dancing for JOY and sharing the JOY with us!

We are excited to share:
~The Nutcracker at Cabrillo's Crocker Theater this past December had packed audiences and closed with a standing ovation!
~We started a new Comp Team that will be competing this spring.
~Last summer our dancers attended intensive programs at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Joffrey, Ballet West, San Francisco Ballet, and ABT among others.
~We were able to continue to keep dance thriving through the pandemic with outdoor classes, online classes, online and outdoor performances as well as opening our doors whenever possible and meeting in the studio where the magic is contagious.
~We are thrilled to say we are back in the studio full time now!

Although our dancers have gone on to perform with dance companies and have been accepted to numerous colleges for dance programs, as well as finding careers in the performing arts... we are most excited to see how so many of our dancers through these last two decades have grown into exceptional people that we are so proud to know.

Our commitment is to provide the best possible dance education in a multitude of genres with exceptional ballet technique at the core of our training.

We aim to inspire not only beautiful dancers but beautiful leaders with a commitment to improving each day, learning to release the fear of failure and perfectionism, and aiming to be the best they can be as a team and on their own. Most of all we wish to spread the joy of dance with our community and beyond as our community has a ripple effect throughout the world.

Every year I write a little New Year's poem. Since this year is a "tutu" year (22) I must share it with each and every one of you :)

Hope you have had a wonderful time celebrating in your tutu!

Twenty Twenty-Two
What does this mean to you?
What is all the to do?
I say put on your golden tutu
Get ready to-to dance with life,
Feel your mind, soul, and spirit en pointe
Take a chance and take an advantageous stance
"Get on the front foot"
As the British say,
Are you even standing on your legs?
If you aren't...
Then who in the world is?
Balance on each leg fully
Then commit to the transfer
Embrace it wholly
You are a dancer!
Everyone is in twenty tutu,
Splendid you~
Here's to being fabu!
