Founded in 2011, we published our first quarterly issue of Catamaran literary journal in the Fall of 2012 and have published a new journal every quarter since our founding. And now, here we with many more quarterly editions, hundreds of contributors, successful writing conferences, numerous literary salons, readings, workshops, art openings, book fairs, and, finally, the Catamaran poetry prize, the recipient of which will be awarded the publishing of a book length collection of his or her poetry. Our mission has grown from the simple publication of a literary magazine to the active engagement with our community. Our literary salons draw community members into lively discussions of the craft and the themes of our authors. Our gallery openings help publicize the artists who appear in each issue. Our writing conferences and craft workshops provide a welcoming and stimulating environment for new and emerging talent.
