At this year’s MIX Gala, we honored Olivia for the beautiful way she has poured into the lives of women at The MIX. Through Con Aroma de Mujer, she has spent years creating a space where women can be themselves, share their stories, and find strength and encouragement.

As a mother of four, Olivia’s gift for nurturing others extends far beyond the classroom. With her warmth, joy, and genuine care, she has helped countless women feel seen, cared for and connected. Thank you, Olivia, for the love, energy, and heart you bring to our community!❤️

En la Gala MIX de este año, rendimos homenaje a Olivia por la hermosa manera en que ha enriquecido la vida de las mujeres de The MIX. A través de *Con Aroma de Mujer*, ha dedicado años a crear un espacio donde las mujeres pueden ser ellas mismas, compartir sus historias y encontrar fortaleza y ánimo.

Como madre de cuatro hijos, el don de Olivia para cuidar y nutrir a los demás trasciende el aula. We love watching moments like these unfold at The MIX Academy. As summer continues, we’re already looking forward to welcoming students back in September for soccer and so many other classes where friendships grow, gifts emerge, and young people discover who they’re capable of becoming. ⚽️☀️💙

Nos encanta ver cómo se desarrollan momentos como estos en The MIX Academy. One of the most meaningful moments from this year’s Mix Gala was when Maria was honored with an award for the incredible impact she has made in our community.

Maria has been a part of The MIX story from the very beginning. Her family was one of the first families to walk through our doors. She has continued to pour her heart into this community ever since. This year, alongside being a devoted mother to three wonderful children, Maria and her husband José achieved a longtime dream and became restaurant owners!!!

Her journey is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when courage, perseverance, community, and opportunity come together. We are grateful for Maria, inspired by her story, and honored to celebrate all that she continues to become❤️

Uno de los momentos más significativos de la Mix Gala de este año fue cuando se homenajeó a María con un premio por el increíble impacto que ha generado en nuestra comunidad.

María ha formado parte de la historia de The MIX desde el principio; su familia fue una de las primeras en cruzar nuestras puertas. Desde entonces, ha seguido volcando todo su corazón en esta comunidad. Este año, además de ser una madre dedicada a tres hijos maravillosos, María y su esposo José hicieron realidad un sueño que tenían desde hace mucho tiempo: ¡¡¡se convirtieron en dueños de un restaurante!!!

Su trayectoria es un hermoso recordatorio de lo que puede suceder cuando se unen el valor, la perseverancia, la comunidad y las oportunidades. Estamos agradecidos por María, nos inspira su historia y nos sentimos honrados de celebrar todo aquello en lo que ella sigue convirtiéndose❤️

At Food Love Friday, we discover again and again that community is not built through grand gestures, but through the quiet faithfulness of showing up for one another. In serving side by side, we are reminded that every person is worthy of being seen, welcomed, and loved❤️

En Food Love Friday, descubrimos una y otra vez que la comunidad no se construye mediante grandes gestos, sino a través de la constancia silenciosa de estar presentes los unos para los otros. Al servir hombro a hombro, recordamos que toda persona merece ser vista, acogida y amada❤️

Hieu’s kindness, encouragement, and faithful service have been a gift to so many in our community. For nearly a decade, he has shared his gifts through teaching ukulele and financial planning at The MIX. He invests in others one conversation, one relationship, and one act of care at a time, always hoping to see people flourish.

This year, we were honored to present Hieu with the Doris Lovett Award, our highest recognition for volunteer service. His impact can be measured not only in the classes he has taught, but in the countless lives he has encouraged, supported, and inspired along the way.

We love you, Hieu! ❤️

La bondad, el aliento y el servicio fiel de Hieu han sido un regalo para muchísimas personas en nuestra comunidad. Durante casi una década, ha compartido sus dones impartiendo clases de ukelele y de planificación financiera en The MIX. Él invierte en los demás —una conversación, una relación y un gesto de atención a la vez—, siempre con la esperanza de ver a las personas florecer.

Este año, tuvimos el honor de entregar a Hieu el Premio Doris Lovett, nuestro máximo reconocimiento al servicio voluntario. Su impacto no se mide únicamente en las clases que ha impartido, sino en las incontables vidas que ha alentado, apoyado e inspirado a lo largo de este camino.
