Last Saturday was a truly special day 💛
Culture Meets Canvas was everything we hoped it would be: joyful, creative, full of energy, and rooted in community.

From hands-on art workshops and live painting to salsa dancing, face painting, cultural experiences, and conversations with local organizations, Santa Ana showed up ready to create, connect, and celebrate together.

We watched people try something new, make art with their hands, meet local artists, dance, laugh, and share in the simple joy of being together.

This is why we believe art should be accessible to everyone. It can open doors, bring people together, and create meaningful connections within our communities.

Thank you to every artist, instructor, vendor, sponsor, community partner, volunteer, and attendee who helped make Culture Meets Canvas possible.

Join us at Culture Meets Canvas for Intro to Salsa Dance with OC-based dancer, instructor, and choreographer Natasha Morales Natasha Morales

With 20+ years of dance experience, Natasha specializes in salsa, mambo, Salsa Caleña, and Latin body movement. She has trained and performed alongside renowned international Latin dance artists and has brought her talent to stages including the Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Knicks.

Her passion for Latin dance goes beyond performance. Natasha is dedicated to dance education and sharing the culture behind the movement, bringing technical precision, energetic teaching, and her signature feminine charisma to every class.

For this workshop, she’ll introduce the fundamentals of salsa through basic steps, movement quality, and style, creating an experience where everyone can find their own rhythm and enjoy the flavor of salsa.

Refugee Week is observed around the world to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees who have been forced to flee their homes due to war or persecution. Featured Artist Rawan Ita-Diaz • Watercolor Artist work does just that.

Each June, Refugee Week is observed around the world to honor the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees who have been forced to flee their homes due to war or persecution.

At The Art Spread, we are honored to work with artists whose journeys reflect perseverance, hope, and the will to begin again. Through their artwork, they share unique perspectives of overcoming war, sacrifice, and building a new home.

Here are three ways you can honor refugee week with us:

1. Create
Create art inspired by themes of home, identity, resilience, or belonging. Themes to help you get started can include a family tree, your childhood home, or cultural food and dishes.

2. View
Take the time to view and deepen your understanding of artwork created by refugee, immigrant, and multicultural artists. Visit our Online Gallery to view art created by refugees from across the globe, all in one place.

3. Connect
Connect through art art as a conversation starter. Send a direct message on social media to an artist you admire, visit a gallery, attend a workshop, or share an artist’s story with friends and family.

This dedication serves to raise awareness, spread empathy, and honor the stories and experiences that influence their art as refugees overcoming adversity.
