Cal Poly SLO Young Cattlemen's Committee

Cal Poly SLO Young Cattlemen's Committee beef industry! We also try to partner with our county affiliates (SLO County Cattlemen/Cattlewomen) as often as possible to help with events.

We are a group of Cal Poly students who meet monthly and participate in activities on the county, state, and national level in order to play an active role in something that is important to the welfare of this nation--the U.S. The California Cattlemen's Association (CCA) helps to provide us with many unique opportunities that further our education and offer great networking opportunities.

As a committee we play an active role in Cal Poly's annual Bull Test and Animal Science department. The CCA sponsors a number of activities for YYC members at the State Capital in Sacramento. For example, we attended the Ag Day Legislative Breakfast and the CCA Youth Congress this past year. Both occasions allowed us to meet and speak with our representatives to get a better idea of the way our state government works. Attending State and National Conventions are an integral part of participation, as these events allow us to keep up to date on issues while making industry connections and meeting other Young Cattlemen. Extra-curricular activities aside, we simply have a great group of people who like to have a great time. We are always accepting new members and would love to see you at our next meeting!

Bring a friend, grab some dinner, and come see what YCA is all about. Dinner will be served, we’ll get you filled in on what we do, how to get involved, and what’s coming up this year.

No experience required. Just bring yourself, bring a friend, and come hang out with us.
