✨ Today, lives were changed.

At our Binational Rehabilitation Jornada, children with disabilities received life-changing mobility and rehabilitation equipment that will help them move, learn, play, and thrive.

Thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and partners whose generosity made this day possible. The smiles we witnessed today are a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for children.

💙 Together, we are creating brighter futures

We’re excited to invite our community to the 2nd Binational Pediatric Symposium, happening on April 14, 2026, at the Southeastern Live Well Center in San Diego.

This free, public event brings together pediatric healthcare professionals, public health experts, academic leaders, and community organizations from San Diego and Baja California to strengthen collaboration and improve healthcare outcomes for children across our shared border region.

Following the success of last year’s symposium in Tijuana, which welcomed 175 attendees, this year’s event continues to build meaningful partnerships and advance high-quality pediatric care, cross-border health initiatives, and community wellness.

What would a 14-year-old say after life-changing surgery made possible by donors like you? We didn’t expect a handwritten letter… or the promise he made at the end.

🌟 Celebrating the Legacy of Dr. Betty Jones and Our Binational Scholars! 🌟

During the annual Scholarship Donor Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the University of San Diego, representatives from Dr. Betty Jones’ family and executives from the Foundation for the Children of the Californias (FCC) had the privilege of meeting the newest recipients of The Betty Jones Binational Scholarship.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Nallely Gecik, a doctoral student in Education for Social Justice, and Alejandro Gendrop, a master's student in School Counseling, have been awarded a total of $25,000! Both students from USD’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences (SOLES) have demonstrated a profound commitment to improving the quality of life in the Cali-Baja region.

Nallely’s research focuses on helping first-generation Latinos and immigrants navigate cross-border life, while Alejandro is dedicated to improving the counseling system for binational students who face unique challenges.

The FCC, on behalf of Dr. Betty Jones' family, is honored to maintain a 10-year commitment to USD, supporting graduate students whose work aligns with Dr. Jones’ pioneering spirit of cross-border collaboration.

Join us in congratulating Nallely and Alejandro as they continue their education and work to become the agents of change our border area needs! 🎓✨
