Thank you to Tim Lash and Jon Zifferblatt from West Health for bringing their chef skills and plenty of laughs to this month’s cooking demo! Our seniors enjoyed learning how to make Salmorejo (aka “gazpacho with flair”) while Tim and Jon kept things lively with audience Q&A and fun foodie facts.

Serving Seniors is a proud partner and fund recipient of the Jewish Community Foundation's giv4 homelessness initiative. One of only 12 grantees, their support has created lasting impact for our low-income seniors facing housing insecurity. Last week, Serving Seniors gathered with our peer grantees at The Hive at Leichtag Commons to hear from Andrew Hening on “A New Map for Ending Homelessness” and discover ways to further our efforts to prevent homelessness across San Diego County.

Campos EPC is a new corporate partner who treated our seniors at the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center to an ice cream social after serving them a healthy and delicious lunch. Sycuan Casino Resort is a long standing supporter, champion and investor of Serving Seniors. This week, Chairman Cody Martinez and Vice Chairman Joshua Muse, plus other members of the Council, served over 100 seniors lunch and presented a gift of $10,000 to help meet the needs of those seniors still in need of assistance. We are humbled by the generosity of Sycuan Casino and their steadfast dedication to supporting low-income older adult communities thrive as they age.
