Friendship Force of San Diego We are the San Diego chapter of Friendship Force International,
an organization promoting world peace

Friendship Force is an organization dedicated to world peace through the understanding of different people and cultures. Members travel throughout the world meeting people, sharing experiences, and gaining insight into each other’s lifestyles. This is accomplished by a club through one-week stays in homes hosted by locals, and hosting guests from other countries in our homes. Our 80 members usuall

y have a meeting (and a travel-related program) on the 3rd Saturday of every month at 1:30 pm at the Joyce Beers Community Center in Hillcrest.

As we approach our 50th anniversary in 2027, Friendship Force International is evolving from a travel organization into a global citizenship movement.

Founded in 1977 by Wayne Smith, in collaboration with President Jimmy Carter, our mission has never been more relevant. In times of increasing polarization, the simple act of sharing a meal, a conversation, and everyday experiences with someone from another culture becomes revolutionary.

We're expanding our impact through education, strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations, and innovative programs that teach what it means to be a global citizen.
