Day 3 at Camp Beyond the Scars was all about RESILIENCE 💪
Our campers explored what it means to overcome challenges, adapt, and grow stronger together. Thanks to our incredible community partners and supporters— DMSB Rotary, Falck, SDG&E, San Diego Fire-Rescue, and Chief Logan—for helping make the day unforgettable.
From learning CPR and flying drones to creating superhero trading cards and battling it out in laser tag, every activity highlighted the strength, courage, and determination that lives within each camper.
Most importantly, we came together as a community—supporting one another, building confidence, and proving that resilience is stronger when shared.

Day 2 at Camp Beyond the Scars was all about discovering the courage that already lives within us. From soaring down the zip line and navigating the BMX bike course to expressing creativity through arts and crafts, every activity challenged campers to step out of their comfort zones. Along the way, new friendships were formed, stories were shared, and peer support reminded us that courage grows stronger when we lift each other up❤️

Camp Beyond the Scars 2026- Heroes- has officially had its first full day of camp! Tie dye shirts were made, and we were so grateful to have Viejas Fire Department speak and teach some fire safety. Ended the night with camp songs with longtime camp friend Michael Goodrich. We have so much more fun in store this week. Special thanks to all of our wonderful community partners and supporters that made this happen!

Big thanks to our friends at Del Mar-Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Club! The Club generously granted us $3,000 to underwrite campers to attend "Camp Beyond the Scars" - FREE weeklong summer camp for children with burn injuries. https://burninstitute.org/camp/
