This incredible group of nurses from UCSD 2 West spent St. Paddy's Day at La Jolla Family House, preparing and serving a delicious dinner to guests with loved ones in the hospital.

By taking just a small part of your holiday schedule to give back, you ensure that families in long-term or critical care can still celebrate life's beautiful moments and traditions, even when they're far from home.

❓Looking to spend quality time with your kids over summer break? Host A Meal with them! It's a valuable way to teach them cooking skills hand in hand with empathy, time management, and gratitude.

This mother-son duo blew us away with their generosity. While they don't live in San Diego, they drove down from LA and stopped by while they were in town visiting to host breakfast - WOW! These baked french toast trays tasted like dessert, and guests were able to enjoy a full breakfast with fruit and juice to start their morning with joy.

📣We hope to see these two back soon, and we hope their story serves as a reminder that you can give back wherever you are - even if you're only in town for the day!

⌚You don't always have to spend hours volunteering to give back - this generous spread came ready to eat in just a few minutes, from a mother-daughter duo! By arriving with pre-boxed meals, bagged chips, and already-baked cookies, they were set up in a flash to feed families in need.

While some guests are able to sit down for a longer meal in our Dining Room, having these boxed meals is also a lifesaver for the families who have to grab and go to be bedside with their loved ones in the hospital. Thanks so much for your consideration for our families in a hurry!

😮 We were blown away by this - a guest checked into La Jolla Family House for the very first time, and look at what they brought as soon as they checked in - a Food Drive Donation!

In their time of need, they were already thinking about how to give back. Now that's generosity 💙

Take a look at this amazing food & hygiene drive!! We were recently contacted by Quinlan, who belongs to Friends of MSF at SDSU. Curious what MSF stands for? Here's what they sent us:

"Our organization is inspired by the humanitarian mission of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders). We are committed to learning from and serving our local communities through volunteering, outreach, and advocacy. Our goal is to support organizations that are creating meaningful change.

We recently learned more about the Family Houses at UC San Diego Health and were deeply moved by your mission to provide a home-away-from-home for families supporting loved ones during medical treatment. Supporting families during such emotionally and physically demanding times strongly aligns with our values of empathy, service and community care."

How wonderful is that? We are so excited to receive this donation for our families, and we look forward to a continued partnership with this incredible organization.

Thank you, National Charity League! Our San Dieguito Chapter recently stopped by to drop off Welcome Bags, but they left a bonus donation too - Snack Bags!

We put them out and they were gone in a blink of the eye - so many families needed them!

These snacks help families ensure that caregivers have enough to eat in long, busy days at the hospital. Our families appreciate you, mothers and daughters of NCL!
