Check out the link below to take a stand for clean energy!
U.S. Representative Mike Levin, representing California's 49th District (North County San Diego and South Orange County), held his 123rd town hall in Encinitas on Saturday, which was focused around the federal Reconciliation Bill. Rep. Levin invited a handful of community members to speak about the different sections of the bill and how the bill would impact lives locally.
Our founder and executive director, Tara Hammond, was invited to speak about how the bill would negatively impact the cost of clean energy projects, raising electricity bills for everyone, increasing climate injustices, accelerating the climate crisis, cutting green jobs stimulating the economy and taking away clean energy education.
Here's a link from Citizens Climate Lobby to email your senator, letting them know you want to keep clean energy tax credits: www.citizensclimatelobby.org/get-loud-take-action/protect-ira-tax-credits
Other community members spoke about how food stamps, medicare and special education will negatively be impacted if this bill passes in its current form, which will be devastating for so many millions of Americans and people living here.
We appreciate Rep. Levin's leadership on this important bill (he tried proposing a common sense amendment, which wasn't given the opportunity to be heard as this was rammed through the House) and for taking time to speak to and hear from his constituents. Throughout his career, he's been a passionate leader on environmental protection, clean energy and combatting the climate crisis.
