Starting a new school year can mean explaining your scoliosis to new teachers. You don't have to share everything, but letting your teachers know what you may need can make school a little easier.

Asking for understanding isn't asking for special treatment. it's advocating for yourself.

Wearing a brace, having a scar, or simply feeling different because of scoliosis can sometimes affect your confidence. But your scoliosis doesn't change your intelligence, your personality, your friendships, or everything you have to offer.

Walk into that classroom knowing that you belong exactly as you are.

Back to school can feel a little different when you’re wearing a scoliosis brace. From figuring out what to wear to getting comfortable sitting in class, it can take some time to adjust. But remember: your brace is only one part of your story, it does not define you.
