Happy Halloween from Salem Academy 🎃👻💀

Happy Haunted Happenings! Spooky season has officially arrived in Salem 🎃👻🐊

What better way to kick off October than marching in the Salem Haunted Happenings Grand Parade last night?! We loved seeing our student dancers and bucket drummers bring their SACS spirit to the streets of Salem. 💚

A huge shout-out to Ms. Springett and Ms. Haggard for organizing our participation and working with our dancers and bucket drummers to get them parade-ready, and thank you to all of our students, staff, and families who joined us!

And a special thank-you to the City of Salem, Salem Chamber of Commerce, and Salem Police Department for all of the work that goes into bringing this beloved Salem tradition to life each year.

We REACHed the Beach!

When this year’s Reach the Beach Relay was canceled, Team SACS did what Navigators do best: we navigated a new course.

Yesterday, our runners took on the Wicked Half Marathon, each running 13.1 miles all at once, arguably an even bigger challenge than tackling the miles in relay legs! They pushed through and crossed the finish line at Dead Horse Beach 🌊

A huge THANK YOU to our team of runners: Stephanie Callahan, Krissy Sgambellone, Nate Lilly ‘17, Emma Davis, Erin Keenan ‘20, Greg Cate, Evan Rodriguez, and Jennifer Shore.

Now that we’ve crossed the finish line, can you help us REACH our $25,000 fundraising goal? We’re nearly 80% of the way there!

We Rallied for Reach the Beach!

Our Navigators brought the energy at Wednesday’s RTB Pep Rally! The gym was filled with chants, cheers, and school spirit as we kicked off an exciting few days of REACH Day and Reach the Beach.

Congratulations to our chant and cheer competition winners!

Today marks the start of Hispanic Heritage Month!

To kick off the month, SACS 12th graders and founders of our Caribbean Culture Club joined the City of Salem for today’s Hispanic Heritage Month Flag Raising at Riley Plaza.

While we celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of our Hispanic and Latinx community throughout the year, this month offers a special opportunity to uplift and honor them with intention and pride.

We’re grateful our students had the opportunity to take part in today’s celebration and proud to celebrate alongside Manny Cruz, Mayor Pangallo, and our greater City of Salem community!

One month until REACH Day 2026!

We’re counting down to one of our favorite days of the year! Check out some photos from last year’s REACH Day field trips. From hiking and kayaking to paddleboarding and adventure courses, our students stepped outside the classroom to try something new, work together (alongside both classmates and teachers), and build connections and belonging early in the school year.
