Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project Providing free Jazz concerts in the parks during the summer. Sponsoring educational workshops for kid

Mission

Providing free jazz concerts for the community and creatively focused
educational opportunities for youth. Using Jazz, music, history, arts, youth social work and media as a means to promote self-expression, learning and foster community. Encouraging community participation and fellowship in parks. Establishing educational opportunities through music workshops, after school and summ

er programs and providing
musical and financial support for community events. Promoting a safe and diverse forum for civic engagement and cultural
enlightenment. Principles

We believe creativity now is as important in education as literacy, and
we should treat it with the same status. Goals

To provide opportunities for the community to engage in positive
musical, artistic and social activities within supervised and mentored school, community center and park settings. To provide a summer front-line staff of expert instructors for the Twin
Cities Mobile Jazz Project. To provide youth with safe and free summer music and arts-based
educational programs, where caring adults mentor youth. To encourage creativity in music and multimedia arts, linking
students’ passion for popular culture by orchestrating creative
activities. To establish a less formal relationship with students and still maintain
form. Community
(Common – Unity)

Community youth music and arts research has re-framed the value of
learning outside of school time. Rather than viewing youth as
high-risk, dangerous and in need of reform, researchers explain that
quality youth programs view youth as assets and resources, they
specifically recommend providing intentional leadership opportunities
for youth in all such programs. Founded By Andre Fischer
